Mark’s passion for magic began at the age of four on a trip to Hamley’s Toy Store in London. It was there that his grandparents bought him his first magic tricks from Marvin’s Magic. On his fifth birthday, this newfound interest was further fuelled by the gift of a Paul Daniels magic set. Mark performed his first ever paid show at the age of just 12 and knew then that he wanted to make a career out of it. Mark’s main company, MDM Entertainments, was born in 1994. Other smaller jobs along the way provided the financial backing to buy new effects, books and videos on magic.
Before long, Mark had won the local title of ‘Young Magician Of The Year’. Mark was now performing more and more shows and was asked to help out with the staging of a local panto, which he ended up rewriting and directing. In 2003, Mark accepted a job in Bridlington running the entertainment on a busy holiday park, a job that would see him there for two years, followed by a year at a holiday camp in Dawlish, Devon, in 2005 as their specialist children’s entertainer. In between the summer seasons, Mark continued to write and direct panto and has to date been involved in over a dozen pantos, along with staging several cabaret and floor shows, all of which have received rave reviews from local press and theatre bodies. For his contribution to magic, Mark was elected President of his local magician’s club for 2011/12. Mark was also a radio presenter for three years and won Listeners’ Choice Best Presenter and Best Show for 2011.
With hundreds of magic shows, parties, and theatre appearances to his name, Mark is regarded as one of the UK’s most successful entertainers, having performed repeatedly for some of the most respected companies in Europe.
